رسالة وزير الطاقة الإسرائيلي الدكتور يوفال شتاينيتز إلى الرئيس اللبناني ميشال عون حول المفاوضات على الحدود البحرية بين البلدين:

"أيها فخامة الرئيس اللبناني ميشال عون,

أولا, رغم وضع العلاقات الراهن بين بلدينا أود أن أتمنى للشعب اللبناني ليس فقط عيد استقلال سعيد بل أيضا انتعاشا سريعا من الأزمة التي تعيشونها. 

يسرّني بأن أبلغكم بأنني أستمتع من الحوار الذي يجري بيننا في الأيام الأخيرة على تويتر حول المفاوضات على الحدود البحرية. 

ولكن للأسف الشديد, يبدو أنكم لا تعرفون كل الحقائق حول هذا الأمر وذلك بسبب قيام الطرف اللبناني بتبديل مواقفه حول الحدود البحرية مرات عديدة خلال ال-15 عاما الأخيرة.

إنني على قناعة بأنه لو استطعنا الالتقاء وجها إلى وجه في إحدى الدول الأوروبية من أجل اجراء مفاوضات علنية أو سرية, لكانت لنا فرصة جيدة لحل الخلاف حول الحدود البحرية مرة واحدة وللأبد, 

وبذلك سنستطيع أن نساهم في تعزيز مستقبل الشعبين الاقتصادي ورفاهيتهما. ي.ش."

 Message from Israeli Energy Minister Dr. Yuval Steinitz to Lebanese President Michel Aoun regarding negotiations on the maritime borders between the two countries:

 His Excellency the Lebanese President Michel Aoun,

 First, despite the current state of relations between our two countries, I would like to wish the Lebanese people not only a happy Independence Day, but also a speedy recovery from the crisis you are experiencing.

 I am pleased to inform you that I am enjoying the dialogue that has been taking place between us in recent days on Twitter about negotiations on the maritime borders.

 But unfortunately, it seems that you do not know all the facts about this matter, because the Lebanese side changed its positions on the maritime borders many times during the last 15 years.

 I am convinced that if we were able to meet face to face in one of the European countries in order to conduct open or secret negotiations, we would have a good opportunity to solve the dispute over the maritime borders once and for all,

 In doing so, we will be able to contribute to enhancing the economic future and well-being of the two peoples. Y.ch.
