إثيوبيا والقتل الجماعي

قلق أممي بشأن تقارير عن قتل جماعي قد يصل إلى جرائم الحرب في إقليم تيغراي الإثيوبي

في ظل ورود تقارير عن وقوع أعمال قتل جماعي في بلدة ماي - كادرا بإقليم تيغراي في إثيوبيا، أعربت مفوضة الأمم المتحدة السامية لحقوق الإنسان عن القلق المتنامي من التدهور السريع للوضع في الإقليم.

وحذرت المفوضة السامية ميشيل باشيليت من أن استمرار القوات الإقليمية في تيغراي والقوات الحكومية الإثيوبية على المسار الحالي، يهدد بخروج الوضع عن نطاق السيطرة بما سيسفر عن وقوع عدد كبير من الضحايا والدمار والنزوح الجماعي داخل إثيوبيا وعبر الحدود.

وذكر بيان صحفي صادر عن مكتب الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان أن تفاصيل ادعاءات عمليات القتل الجماعي، التي أبلغت عنها منظمة العفو الدولية، لم توثـق بالكامل بعد إلا أن المفوضة السامية دعت إلى إجراء تحقيق شامل في هذه الادعاءات.

 In light of reports of mass killings in the town of Mai-Kadra, Tigray region in Ethiopia, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed growing concern about the rapidly deteriorating situation in the region.

 The High Commissioner, Michelle Bachelet, warned that the continuation of the regional forces in Tigray and the Ethiopian government forces on the current path threatens to spiral out of control, which will result in a large number of victims, destruction and mass displacement within Ethiopia and across the borders.

 A press release issued by the United Nations Office for Human Rights stated that the details of the allegations of mass killings, which were reported by Amnesty International, have not yet been fully documented, but the High Commissioner called for a comprehensive investigation into these allegations.
